Goals • North – 1) Blockade the South • 2) Capture Richmond, VA (capital) • 3) Control the Mississippi River • - Cut the south in half • South – 1) Capture Washington D.C. • 2) Keep the status quo • South has already achieved its main goal, independence. They just have to keep it.
