The challenge as defined by PLT • Gap between AAS teams’ (including all program staff and partners in countries) capacity to understand and implement the program RinD approach • There are varying degrees of internal and external capacity currently in countries • Different types of capacities are required at different levels of the program and implementation, depending on the country context and associated partner landscape • There is need for a coherent approach to capacity development for the program - various capacity development initiatives are already underway

SLG Reflections • Whole team approach requires breaking down of silos across teams and staff • Need to think beyond the hubs and build RinD capacity across levels of the program – scientists working in themes and partners • Organizational dimensions of competencies and capacities need further engagement with CGIAR centers – IWMI, Bioversity & WorldFish

Next Steps • We will continue to use Facebook page and expand it to include the whole KS&L group that was in Penang and the gender team - some people need help on how to use it • We will use Google Docs as our main vehicle for document sharing - we need to build a KS&L folder and ensure everyone is shared on it - we might need to give simple guidance on use of CGxChangeemails • We will build discussions around specific areas of interest through email group - so we need to set up a full KS&L email group and include the gender team in this • We will look for opportunities to do peer assist and some suggestions were made to use the responses on the networking survey to help id potential opportunities for linking people up
