  2. Integer-a complete entity

  3. Rational number- a number that can be expressed exactly by a ratio of two integers.

  4. scientific notation- a method for expressing a given quantity as a number having significant digits necessary for a specified degree of accuracy, multiplied by 10 to the appropriate power1385.62 written as 1.386 × 10 3

  5. Perfect square- a rational number that is equal to the square of another rational number.

  6. Irrational number- a number that cannot be exactly expressed as a ratio of two integers.

  7. real numbers a rational number or the limit of a sequence of rational numbers, as opposed to a complex number.

  8.  Density Property- two rational numbers on a number line • Adjacent angles- angles that have a common ray coming out of the vertex

  9. Coefficient- A numerical or constant quantity placed before and multiplying the variable in an algebraic expression • Distance Formula- creating a triangle and using the Pythagorean Theorem to find the length of the hypotenuse.

  10. Domain- a function is the set of all possible input values (usually x), which allows the function formula to work • Hypotenuse- The longest side of a right triangle, opposite the right angle

  11. Legs of a right Triangle- The sides adjacent to the right angle

  12. Rational Number- an integer or a fraction • Range- The difference between the lowest and highest values.

  13. Slope- Be inclined from a horizontal or vertical line; slant up or down • Scientific Notation- a way of writing numbers that accommodates values too

  14. Prism- A solid geometric figure whose two end faces are similar, equal, and parallel rectilinear figures, and whose sides are parallelograms. • Scatter plot- a type of mathematical diagram using Cartesian coordinates to display values for two variables for

  15. Slope intercept form- algebraic equation in which each term is either a constant or the product of a constant and (the first power of)

  16. absolute value-The magnitude of a real number without regard to its sign

  17. polygon   A plane figure with at least three straight sides and angles, and typically five or more.

  18. factor   • A circumstance, fact, or influence that contributes to a result or outcome.

  19. exponent   1.A person who believes in and promotes the truth or benefits of an idea or theory. 2.A person who has and demonstrates a particular skill, esp. to a high standard.

  20. Vertex • The pointy ends of a shape

  21. parallogram • A four-sided plane rectilinear figure with opposite sides parallel.

  22. quadrilateral • A four-sided figure.

  23. octagon • A plane figure with eight straight sides and eight angles.

  24. pentagon • A plane figure with five straight sides and five angles.

  25. Right triangle • A triangle with a right angle.
