HISTORY • Creted in February 14, 2005 • Creators: Steve Chen, Chad Hurley, JawedKarim. • Chad Hurley, Steve Chen, and Jawed Karim,Hurley studied design at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. • Chen and Karim studied computer science together at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
HISTORY • Began as a venture-funded technology startup • Primarily $11.5 million investment by Sequoia Capital between November 2005 and April 2006 • YouTube's headquarters situated above a pizzeria and Japanese restaurant in San Mateo, California.
WHAT IS YOUTUBE? • A video-sharing website, created in February 2005, which users can upload, view and share videos. • Variety of video content, movie clips, TV clips, music videos.
Whatisyoutube? • Unregistered users can watch videos • Registered users can upload unlimited number of videos. • Videos considered to contain offensive content are available only to registered users at least 18 years old.
Youtube in Education • Some schools, colleges and universities have their own channel on YouTube. • YouTube EDU appear where up materials for community education. • Which can be viewed by students both inside and outside the institution.
PODCAST • Podcasting is the distribution of multimedia files • By system of RSS • Allowing subscription and use a program that is downloaded to the user can listen at the time you want.
E-learning • Comprises all forms of electronically supported learning and teaching. • Is essentially the computer and network-enabled transfer skills and knowledge.
MobileLearning • Offer the freedom to capture ideas spontaneously, just when the inspiration comes. • Making the extension of the boundaries of the classroom, allowing access to information technologies when and where the user needs it.
