  4. Small Pox slide 3 • Smallpox is an acute contagious desease caused by variola virus.

  5. Small Pox slide 4 • Smallpox had two main forms:variola major and variola minor.

  6. Small Pox slide 5 • Person carrying the virus during the incubation period cannot infect others.

  7. Small Pox slide 6 • The incubation period of smallpox is usually 12-14 days (range 7-17) during which there is no evidence of viral shedding.
