We are class D2 and we took an interview from a man who works in a factory that pollutes our environment here in Volos
1. Are filters used at the factory’s chimneys? Of course they are ,the use of which is the main factor for the factories working license . However there are some accusations that during the night ,the filters stop working . I thing sth like that is impossible to happen.
2.Does the factory use powers of energy that are friendly to the environment?The factory uses powers of energy like coal, mazut that are not friendly to the environment .But at the moment ,great efforts are made and a whole unit has been constructed ,that will use biomass which is friendlier to the environment .
3.Have there been breathing problems in the place where workers work? • Because of the factory’s dust it is natural for all the workers to face breathing problems, but everyone should try to protect themselves from the dust by taking • measures of personal protection like wearing special masks, earplugs and glasses.
4. The daily newspaper of Volos city called ‘ Thessalia’ had an article, which says : VOLOS IS THE FIFTH CITY IN AIR POLLUTION IN GREECE.
So that is the environment which everyone wants to live there….
