Chemistry Su Doku • The rules are the same as the popular number game. i.e. Elements can only appear once within each horizontal line, each vertical line and in each box set within bold lines. • The examples shown would be categorised as easy, medium and I found the last one downright fiendish. I’ve only recently moved into the medium of the popular game, so setting them is working around my basic standard.
Chemistry Su Doku I’ve included a grid for more advanced operators who wish to makeup their own and if you wish to post any further puzzles on the North-Yorks site you will be very welcome. The answer grids follow the main puzzles. If you can think of a better name then please contact me.
Chemistry Su Doku • Hints to help anyone get started. • Slicing and dicing: For the first puzzle look at the top grids, N is in the first grid top row and also in the last grid, bottom row. That means that N can only occur in the top, middle grid in the middle two boxes. Furthermore, N then appears in the very bottom row, middle grid, extreme right box, meaning that N can now only appear in the box shaded and marked in the middle section. • You should now follow a similar method to place the other elements. As your skills and intuition develops then you will see other patterns emerging. • Using this technique, you can see that the middle grid must have an N in middle row extreme left.
