Act 129 Energy Efficiency Legislation PA State Law • Enacted 2008 • Requires all public electric utilities to reduce impact on the electrical grid • Rate payer funded • Three phases, two completed • Phase III ends May 31, 2021

PPL’s Energy Efficiency Programs • Residential, commercial, and industrial rebates for efficiency improvements • Offers: • Point-of-Sale Distributor Discounts • Direct Discounts through contractor network • Efficient Equipment rebates(Lighting, HVAC, kitchen equipment, EC motors, etc.) • Custom rebates: Everything outside the bulb!
PPL’s Phase 3 Program Standard Offering Beyond the Bulb Custom Projects Efficient Equipment • 1-1 replacement or new construction • Quick and easy calculated savings for: • Lighting and standard controls • Food service equipment • HVAC equipment and VFD controls • Refrigeration • Office equipment • Some compressed air • Agricultural equipment
Efficient Equipment Rebates • Performance-based rebates (one time) at: $0.05/annual kWh • Up to 50% of project cost or $500,000 • Standard list of measures • Savings calculated • Pre-approval required
Custom Rebates • Performance-based rebates (one-time) at: $0.06/annual kWh • Up to 50% of project cost or $500,000 • Savings measured and verified • Projects must pass cost effectiveness test (TRC) • Pre-approval required
