2.3. EL MOVIMIENTO DE ROTACIÓN 2.3.1. EL DÍA Y LA NOCHE Click see and answer … http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qqoAEKVRu00&feature=related ¿Puede ser la misma hora en todos sitios?
2.3. THE ROTATION MOVEMENT Longitude and Time If you place meridians 15° apart starting with the Prime Meridian, you will divide the Earth into 24 zones. These correspond to the 24 hours in a day. HUSO HORARIO: ZONA ENTRE DOS MERIDIANOS CONSECUTIVOS http://www.mapsofworld.com/time-zone-map/maps/world-time-zone.jpg
2.3. THE ROTATION MOVEMENT • As you travel around the world to the east, you gain an hour in time for each zone you cross. If you travel to the west you lose an hour. http://www.astro.ufl.edu/~oliver/ast3722/lectures/CoordsNtime/timezon2.gif
2.3. THE ROTATION MOVEMENT • The world rotates (spins) 360° in 24 hours. 360° / 24 hours = 15° per hour • The world has 24 time zones, each l5° apart. • THERE IS A 1 HOUR TIME DIFFERENCE FOR EVERY 15° OF LONGITUDE http://www.astro.ufl.edu/~oliver/ast3722/lectures/CoordsNtime/timezon2.gif
2.3. THE ROTATION MOVEMENT • EAST INCREASE Time is forward to all places to the east • WEST LESS Time is backward to all places to the west http://www.astro.ufl.edu/~oliver/ast3722/lectures/CoordsNtime/timezon2.gif
2.3. THE ROTATION MOVEMENT East Increase – West Less(1 hr per l5°) If it is 9 p.m. at Position D, what time is it at position C? Position B? http://www.astro.ufl.edu/~oliver/ast3722/lectures/CoordsNtime/timezon2.gif
2.3. THE ROTATION MOVEMENT 5 p.m. 3 p.m. East Increase – West Less(1 hr per l5°) If it is 9 p.m. at Position D, what time is it at position C? Position B? http://www.astro.ufl.edu/~oliver/ast3722/lectures/CoordsNtime/timezon2.gif
2.3. THE ROTATION MOVEMENT East Increase – West Less(1 hr per l5°) If it is 1 p.m. at Position X, at which location is the time 5 p.m. ? http://www.astro.ufl.edu/~oliver/ast3722/lectures/CoordsNtime/timezon2.gif
2.3. THE ROTATION MOVEMENT 5 p.m. East Increase – West Less(1 hr per l5°) If it is 1 p.m. at Position X, at which location is the time 5 p.m. ? http://www.astro.ufl.edu/~oliver/ast3722/lectures/CoordsNtime/timezon2.gif
