  2. Our Mission Our mission is to support the educational theory that reading is the key that unlocks virtually all other learning. We strive to present the key to reading success to every student that passes through our doors, and to provide a cohesive center of motivational and visual literacy that enhances the core reading curriculum.

  3. Circulation Information •  Students will visit the library weekly. • Students will receive a library bag to bring their library book back and forth to the library. The library bag will have their name, teacher’s name and library day. • Students may check out one book per week. They may check out a book only if they return the one checked out previously. • Parents and guardians are responsible for payment of any book(s) lost or damaged by their child. • We encourage students to choose books based on their interests. Please help your child remember to return his or her library book on time!

  4. Simple Strategies for Creating Strong Readers · Invite a child to read every day. · Point word by word as you read to help your child learn that reading goes from left to right, and help him/her understand that the word he/she says is the word he/she sees. · Read favorite books over and over again. · Read stories with rhyming words and lines that repeat. Invite your child to read along. · Discuss new words. · Stop often and ask about the pictures and what is happening in the story. · Read from a variety of children’s books, including informational books.
