  1. Abstract The VAO Data Discovery Tool is a web-based application for discovering data from thousands of astronomical collections and archives around the world. Using protocols defined by the International Virtual Observatory Alliance (IVOA), the Data Discovery Tool can search those widely distributed resources and present the results in a single unified web page. Search VO resources by entering object name or position. Discovering Data in the Virtual Observatory AstroView provides all-sky browsing, visualization and selection of search results. A powerful filtering mechanism allows the user to quickly narrow the search results. Tom Donaldson1,3, Dean Hinshaw2,3, Tony Rogers1, Geoff Wallace1 1. Space Telescope Science Institute 2. Innovim LLC (NASA/HEASARC) 3. Virtual Astronomical Observatory User selects VO resources to display. Data discovered through the tool can be downloaded or broadcast directly to VO-enabled applications. Search results contain images, catalogs and spectra from a wide variety of VO resources. Thisproject is a collaboration between the Mikulski Archive for Space Telescopes and the Virtual Astronomical Observatory The Virtual Astronomical Observatory (VAO) is managed by the VAO, LLC, a non-profit company established as a partnership of the Associated Universities, Inc. and the Association of Universities for Research in Astronomy, Inc. The VAO is sponsored by the National Science Foundation and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. www.usvao.org Demonstrations, tutorials, & more information at the VAO Exhibit (231-233)
