What is a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM)? • A physician and surgeon qualified to diagnose and treat conditions affecting the foot, ankle and related structures of the leg.
What are the qualifications of a podiatrist? • Podiatrists are defined as physicians by the federal government. • Podiatrists receive medical education and training comparable to medical doctors. • Podiatrists are the only doctors to receive specialized medical and surgical training and board specialization of the lower extremity.
