DISCOVERYA Unique Center with Unique Opportunities DISCOVERY unitesstronggroups in: Theory, Fundamental ParticlePhysics, Quark Gluon Plasma Physics CosmicMicrowave Radiation Physics, …which most placesrarelyworktogether. Direct and uniqueaccess to data from the most powerfulexperimentsavailabletoday: • The Large HadronCollider (LHC) at CERN exploring p+p and Pb+Pb collisions at unprecedentedhighenergies (ATLAS and ALICE experiments) • The Planck satellitemission with unique resolution and sensitivity of the sky. Summary • A new method to analyse the event morphology in Heavy Ion and Particlephysics has beenproposed. • Toy model analysissuggestgood resolution for collectivephenomena (elliptic flow) and point sources (jets) • Next steps: • Full simulation withrealistic event generator and detector transport code • Developanalysis for additionalphysicseffects • Analyse ALICE events from LHC Pb+Pb (2.76 A.TeV)
