Environment • The Komodo dragons can live on a island called Komodo island. • They live in dry deserts or tropical forests. • They live in Asia.
Behavior • Komodo dragons are active during the day. • The light and temperature effect the color of a Komodo dragon. Komodo dragons can spit and the spit is very dangerous because it’s full of germs.
Lizards and humans • Parts of the world people are animal killers and eat lizards. • People like to threaten these lizards. • A lot of people cut trees down and that’s where some Komodo dragons live. • People catch lizards then sell them. • Komodo dragons were almost wiped out. • Komodo dragons are protected by the law.
Life cycle • A Komodo dragon can be 10 feet tall. • Komodo dragons have four big legs. • Females lay a big number of eggs. • The eggs feel like leather. • Komodo dragons mate in the summer. • In the zoo Komodo dragons live for 10 years. • In the wild they can live for 50 years.
