  2. Foundational Scripture: Matthew 25 Jesus said to his disciples, “For I was hungry and you gave me food, thirsty and you gave me drink, a stranger and you welcomed me … Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers or sisters of mine, you did for me.”

  3. Link between Scripture and Student’s Project • All service projects must be directly reflective of Matthew 25 passage: • The Poor • Those Struggling with Age/Illness • The Young/The Vulnerable • Those in Significant Need

  4. Sophomore Experience • 15 hours of community service to those in need must be completed by November 7, 2011. • Contract outlining service project will be signed by student and parent (not agency supervisor) due May 26, 2011. Please call agencies you are interested in and secure a position.

  5. What needs to be turned in on November 7 • Either a supervisor-signed timesheet (see my teacher page) or a letter from the agency where you served verifying 15 hours completed. • A hard copy of your narrative essay on your service experience (see next slide).

  6. Reflection and Lessons Learned - Sophomores • A 2-3 page submission to your electronic portfolio will be due on November 7. • A rubric will be provided on Mrs. Bellucci’s teacher page

  7. Hospitals Convalescent Facilities Tutorial Programs Religious Education Programs Programs for Disabled Persons Soup Kitchens Food Pantries Tutoring/Sports Initiatives to those in need Church Social Justice Programs (Not Church Carnivals) Some Ideas for Service Placement
