Study Question How do women in Florida measure up in preconception health?
Data Sources • Pregnancy Risk Assessment Monitoring System (PRAMS) • Women with a live birth within the past 2-5 months • Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) • Women of reproductive age, 18-44 years • Nationally Sexually Transmitted Disease Database (NSTD) • Women of reproductive age, 15-39 years • National Vital Statistics Data (NVSS) • Recent mothers • The Annual Social and Economic Supplement of the Current Population Survey (ASEC) • Women of reproductive age, 18-44 years

Analysis • Descriptive Statistics • All indicators calculated by race, ethnicity, age, education, income, and year • National data were used for comparison where possible • Florida PRAMS data were compared to the national median of reporting PRAMS states
Florida & U.S. Women - Differences • Women in Florida were less likely than U.S. women to be 18-24 years of age • 16.2% compared to 22.3% • Women in Florida were more likely than U.S. women to be Hispanic • 38.8% compared to 29.2%
