Georgia Medicaid EHR Incentive Program Provides financial incentives to Medicaid providers who are Eligible Professionals and Eligible Hospitals as they adopt, implement, upgrade or demonstrate meaningful use of certified EHR technology.
Eligible Professionals • Physicians • Pediatricians • Nurse practitioners • Certified nurse-midwives • Dentists • Physician Assistants • The physician assistant is the primary provider in a clinic • The physician assistant is a clinical or medical director at a clinical site of practice; or • The physician assistant is an owner of the RHC.
Eligible Hospitals • Acute care hospitals (including Critical Access Hospitals) • with at least 10% Medicaid patient volume • Children's hospitals • No Medicaid patient volume requirements
EPs @ FQHCs/ RHCs/CSBs Federally Qualified Health Centers • Practice predominantly in a Federally Qualified Health Centers • Have a minimum 30% patient volume attributable to needy individuals or Medicaid patients. • Rural Health Centers • Practice predominantly in a Rural Health Center • Have a minimum 30% patient volume attributable to needy individuals or Medicaid patients. • Community Service Boards • Practice in a Community Service Board facility • Have a minimum 30% Medicaid patient volume.
Birth of the Collaborative • 13 states collaborated to develop a “core” system with HP: • Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kansas, Massachusetts, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Wisconsin • Collaborate on “core” system, states develop custom systems (additional coordination) • States shared costs, processes, understanding of incentive program and Federal requirements
Medical Assistance Provider Incentive Repository - MAPIR • MAPIR is the state level EHR incentive program repository • Interfaces with Medicare and Medicaid EHR Incentive Program Registration and Attestation System (R&A) • Interfaces with the Georgia State Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) • Core product that is customized for each State • Georgia launched on September 5th!
