  2. Summary and effect • General Lee and General Meade led their armies onto a field. After three days of battle, George Pickett marched his men onto a field and got most of them killed. The North won. • Effect-Forced South to retreat, North followed them, eventually winning the war.

  3. Dates, key players, and interesting fact • Dates-July 1-3 1863 • Principal commanders-Robert E. Lee, George G. Meade, James Longstreet, George E. Pickett, and J.E.B. Stuart. • Interesting Fact-Gen. Lee lost 28,000 men and Gen. Meade lost 22,000
