What is The Georgia Food Industry Association (GFIA)? The Georgia Food Industry Association (GFIA) is an organization that has represented the grocery industry since 1912. The GFIA is the only Georgia association that is solely dedicated to advocate legislative and regulatory fairness for the food industry. GFIA works daily to limit the adverse impacts of intrusive government regulations. Our association is committed to promoting and strengthening the food industry. With over 400 members consisting of retailers, wholesalers and suppliers, the GFIA is truly the voice of the industry.

What is the Georgia Food Industry Education Foundation? The Georgia Food Industry Association Education Foundation (GFIEF) is a charitable corporation provided for and funded by GFIA member companies to provide scholarships to deserving students. Since its inception in 1995, the Foundation has awarded over a million dollars in scholarship funding. GFIEF also funds many educational and training programs for the food industry. As a branch of the Georgia Food Industry Association, the Foundation benefits students of retailers, wholesalers and suppliers doing business in the state of Georgia.
Scholarship Opportunities The Georgia Food Industry Education Foundation gives students of the food industry the opportunity to gain funding for higher education! Any student that works in the industry or is the child of full time employee of a GFIA member company are eligible to apply. With over 100 scholarships totaling more than $100,000 in available funding, this is a member perk you don’t want to miss! As a member of GFIA, your company also has the opportunity to fund a scholarship. If you would like to guarantee a scholarship winner from your company, you can fund a “Piggyback” award, in which your employees will be the only ones eligible. If you would like to gain company recognition and “Sponsor” an award, you can do so by funding an award for your retail/wholesale customers. Fund a Scholarship for as little as $500!!
