Parts of a Protractor Center Hole
Step 1: Place the center hole over the vertex of the angle
Step 2: Line up the straight edge with one side of the angle
Step 3: Find the point where the second side of the angle intersects with the curved edge
Step 4: Read the number on the protractor to find the measure of the angle
Step 1: Draw a ray with the straight edge of the protractor
Step 2: Place the center hole over the starting point of the ray
Step 3: Place a dot at the angle measure you want
Step 3: Line up the straight edge over the starting point of the ray and the dot
Step 4: Draw a ray connecting the two marks. The point they meet is called the vertex
Practice Drawing Angles Using a protractor, draw the following angles with the given measures. • 1. 85° • 2. 15° • 3. 140°
