  3. Margaret Mitchell • Born in Atlanta, Georgia in 1900 • She was the American author of ‘Gone With The Wind • In 1937 she received the Pulitzer Prize for this novel • When she was 15 she wrote ‘Lost Laysen’, which was published in 1996.

  4. The Book • It was published in 1936 • It had an extraordinary success • The author took in consideration some others titles before the current one

  5. Is a war novel, a historic and beautiful romance • It’s major themes: survival, love and war • Present two different worlds • The literary technique of the novel is ‘Bildungsroman’ • The plot is full of vivid characters

  6. Scarlett O’Hara • It is the main character of the book • The plot follows her evolution: from a young woman into adulthood • She is a strong, very brave and powerful woman • She can adapt to the new world that the war brought
