Why Rationale? • Sharing of rationale enables team understanding of a solution (we hope) • Human and machine reasoning may be integrated • Can be used to determine dependencies, assumptions, knock on effects • Applications may generate rationale automatically via the common conceptual model • BUT a standard to exchange for rationale is required • The ITA “logic proposal” offers such a standard
