Linked Data PIM (answer) • The vision of LinkedPIM – a set of open specifications and ontologiesenabling (on any portal*): • one entry point to manage the up-to-date PIM information; • subscriptions for Parties interested in the PIM updates. • To implement, ontologies + a secure and authorization based subscription service is needed. • Advantages: • One URL as an entry point for managing my shared info. Also one URL for the subscribers. • Add CV, social network, blog entries, whatever else to the PIM as one of the items to share, not limited to tasks events and contacts. • PIM sharing (interaction) mainly e-mail based cross-portal web-service based subscription service. • Data accessible in a machine-processable, ontologized fashion • Data extendable (no “DTD traps”) without any disruption to standard ontology users • Can control who receives updates, so if some portal is abusing my data, stop it’s subscription 2009 Linked PIM 4

LinkedPIM Catalogue • Catalogue – a public (X)HTML page, that has metadata (RDFa) about data sections linking to: • Publicdata files (contact details, resume, calendar, etc.) • Subscribable data sections • Can request subscription to private data (contact/calendar/tasks/CV/etc.) • Access point for searching the public RDF data (SparQL access point) Linked PIM

Status of LinkedPIM project • LinkedPIM Proof of Concept (in progress) • www.linkedpim.com | www.semantical.me • Vision, must have / optional requirements, possible ontology extensions defined (see full ESTC paper). • Catalogue, subscription service development in progress • Initial ontology extensions in progress (full contact data based on FOAF) • After Proof of Concept • Define requirements (use cases) for the after-PoC project stage • Detail out the technical specification of LinkedPIM protocol • Extend, publish the ontologies to use for different data sections • Mappings to other commonly used ontologies (Plaxo, LinkedIn, etc.) • We are looking for collaboration – anyone with the skills can and should contribute.
