e-Biz Impact e-Biz Impact 5.3 Feature list
e-Biz Impact 5.3 Feature List • Feature Replication: replicates Impact 4.x functionality with the exception of Animation AIMs, which are supported via a bridge to existing 4.x systems. • Component-Based Architecture: Impact 4.x B/SM engine is replaced by the Impact Manager. Impact Manager supports multiple, parallel "clusters" running separate instances of e-Biz Impact independently on the same server. • Cluster to Cluster and Cluster to B/SM Bridges: New Bridge components allow for cluster-to-cluster as well as cluster-to-B/SM communication via DFCs allowing communication between multiple instances of Impact running in separate clusters. Also enables e-Biz Impact 5.3 to run in parallel and exchange data with existing installations of Impact 4.x.
e-Biz Impact 5.3 Feature List – cont. • Hot Plugging Support: within each cluster, individual applications can be stopped and started without bringing down other applications within the cluster. • New Monitoring GUI: provides secure and centralized command and control facilities without the need for third-party components such as DCE. The GUI is an MMC-based snap-in, accessible along with all of the other new GUI tools from a single MMC Console session. • Logfile Maintenance Utility Relocated: the logfile maintenance utility is now integrated with the new Monitoring GUI. • New Security GUI: allows setup of authentication and authorization levels for access to command and control and development facilities.
e-Biz Impact 5.3 Feature List – cont. • Secure Command-Line Administration: the new Command and Control utility accesses the security database to authorize user permissions. This utility can stop, pause, and restart activity in the Impact Manager at several different levels, including clusters, SFMs, and adapters. • New Configuration GUI: provides centralized configuration of the integration server. Eliminates multiple configuration files and manual configuration. • E-Mail Notification Revamped: a new SMTP e-mail notification component has been designed for alert notification simplifying configuration and administration of alert notification.
