  2. The Christian and Work • 1 Peter 2:18-25 • Be in submission • Even when treated unfairly • Example of Christ • Patient endurance • Not reviling when verbally abused • Not threatening when physically abused • Respect the position of authority even if the occupant’s character is not respectable

The Christian and Work • Titus 2:9-10 • beobedientto their own masters, • be wellpleasingin all things, • not answering back, • not pilfering, stealing or slowdown • showing all good fidelity, dependable 1 Cor. 4:2 • that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Savior in all things. Make the gospel attractive • Titus 2:5,8; 1 Tim. 6:1; Phil. 2:14-16 harmless

The Christian and Work Ephesians 6:5-8 • Bondservants, be obedient to those who are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in sincerity of heart, as to Christ; not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but as bondservants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart, with goodwill doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men, knowing that whatever good anyone does, he will receive the same from the Lord, whether he is a slave or free.

  5. The Christian and Work Colossians 3:22-25 • Bondservants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh, not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but in sincerity of heart, fearingGod. And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ. But he who does wrong will be repaid for what he has done, and there is no partiality.

The Christian and Work • Be honest • Be industrious • Be respectful • Put your heart as well as effort into your work • Remember you glorify God by how you work • We actually are serving God by working • We will give account to God • Don’t let your life and labor be in vain • Submit to the Lord Jesus and serve Him
