  3. Stressing Economy The Maltese are not unique in their promotion of education and preparing students for global awareness. Nevertheless, the influx of immigrants to Malta and economical dynamics are stressing the economy causing questions of having students/adult learner’s – residents of Malta to pay for their undergraduate education. Although, when compared to the United States of America, the Maltese immigration rate is low; yet the affects this migration is having on the Maltese is stressing the countries limited resources: Land-lines, internet services, and housing availability, energy and water resources, and may affect tourism.

  4. History The Maltese are dynamic people with various interest with a mix of culture. The islands transformation has been phenomenal and now sparkles as a tourist destination. Several years ago Malta made its debut on As The World Turns, a once long-time running, day-time drama (Soap Opera), as the home-country of Damian Gramaldi. Since 2004 Malta has been a member of the EU and since 2008 its currency is the euro (Cia.gov).

Learning Learning in Malta • A native of Malta has several ways in which to be educated. • Compulsory education required for primary education from K-12 parents may opt to send their children to public or private school. Parents/Guardian accountable for private education tuition. Special education available. • Whether private or public education the choice gives each student opportunity to select a path to further his or her education. • Government paid tuition • College/University bound students, which are residents of Malta will not pay for tuition. Some cost applies. • Government paid tuition is placing a strain on the financial system; however, Maltese absorbs the cost to graduates prepared for international and global positions. • Language • Official languages: Maltese (Semitic derived from Arabic, with Italian, Spanish….) language & English • Learners have opportunity to learn English in Malta. • Malta University • Students can partake in a flexible program by attending classes at a satellite campus via video conferencing , or attend all classes at satellite or main campus.
