The 19th Annual Special Olympics European Football Week, held from 25 May to 2 June 2019, focuses on women's football and aims to increase female participation in sport. Over 40,000 participants from 50 countries, including 5000 girls, engage in grassroots activities to expand youth Unified Football and Children’s Football. Supported by EU projects, the event promotes health, active lifestyles, and the FIT5 program. With the involvement of international partners like EU and UEFA Respect, the initiative emphasizes the inclusion of women and girls with intellectual disabilities in football. Additionally, the project funded by EU Erasmus+ runs throughout 2019, culminating in a campaign coinciding with the Special Olympics European Football Week. It features various events, tournaments, clinics, and developmental sports programs to encourage participation across different age groups. Background: UEFA Football and Social Responsibility portfolio includes Football for all abilities, child protection, access, inclusion, reconciliation, sustainable event management and tackling discrimination . #EqualGame - campaign started in 2017-18 season, about people and their football stories – gives football lovers across Europe the opportunity to express just what the game means to them. UEFA Respect logo should be clearly visible next to Special Olympics logo but not as a dominant design element; it should not be placed next to sponsors’ logos; either white or blue versions can be used on T-shirt designs placed on left sleeve (heart side).
