TACCOM/ARC-210 AESA radar Over 140 airborne, seaborne and land based platforms use ARC-210 equipment.
Over The Horizon CommunicationsMobile User Objective System Why MUOS? • Combatant Commanders depend on Narrowband SATCOM to complete critical missions requiring Beyond Line Of Sight (BLOS) communications • Existing UHF satellites are currently over subscribed and demand is increasing • Availability of channels for missions is rapidly declining due to health of legacy satellites • Legacy UHF capacity will be at 40% capacity by CY16 • No MUOS capable airborne radios exist today • Mobile User Objective System developed as a replacement for the UHF Follow On (UFO) satellite constellation • IOC in 2012 (one satellite) • FOC in 2016 (four satellites) • Each Satellite will have 2 payloads • Legacy UHF payload with ½ number of usable accesses* • Modern MUOS payload • UFO to MUOS Capacity Improvement MUOS is vital to future UHF SATCOM operations
Interest Items FY15/16 Mobile User Objective System (MUOS) • TACCOM team investigating cost effective options for a MUOS capable airborne terminal for Naval Aviation. Trade space in terminal development cost, Terminal recurring cost, Platform Integration Non recurring and recurring installation costs. • Potential Platforms: E-2C/D, E-6B, VH-60N/VH-3D, CH-53E/K, MH-53E, MH-60S/R, MV-22B, KC-130J, Firescout, BAMS & UH-1Y • RFI responses received from Industry, study ongoing
