  3. List of other holy books: • The Tawrat – The Jewish Torah • The Injil • The Zabur • The Kitab-i-Aqdas of Bahá’u’lláh • The Hindu Vedas • The Avestas of Zarathustra • The Adi-Granth of the Sikhs • The Mahabarata’s Bhagavad-Gita • The Urantia book

  4. The Tawrat, Zabur and Injil • Muslims believe that over a large period of time Allah (S.W.T) has sent his message to inhabitants of Earth through prophets. These prophets were sent to particular nations and peoples at a particular time. Some prophets had received direct revelation from Allah (S.W.T) • Muslims believe that originally these books had contained the same message from Allah (S.W.T) however throughout the years they were translated and amended according to the ways that people preferred, this suggests that the original meaning of these books have been lost. • Muslims believe that presently these books contain several errors. • Although these books contain some truth they have become distorted therefore Muslims cannot use them as a guide, this is because these messages are now unreliable. • The only holy book that contains the entire truth is the Quran, This is because of the way it was revealed and because it has not been changed and stays completely the same.

  5. The importance of this belief • Islamic teachings on holy books other that the Quran are important because • They demonstrate that Allah (S.W.T) cares for people because He revealed His message directly to the people over a period of time. • They show that the Quran contains the while truth, therefore only the Quran can guide people along the correct path. The path of righteousness. • Although the messages are distorted they were originally revealed by Allah (S.W.T) therefore we must still respect them.
