  2. Brutus’ troops: Cassius’ troops: • Brutus sends Messala to Cassius’ camp with a message: • “It’s a good time to strike Antony’s troops!” • Cassius’ camp awaits the message from Messala.

  3. Cassius’ camp: • Cassius to Titinius, “Look, some of our troops are running away!” • Titinius: “Brutus gave the word too early; his soldiers are losing!”

  4. Cassius camp: • [Enter Pindarus] • Pindarus to Cassius, “High-tail it outta here—Antony is in your tents!” • Cassius to Titinius, “Hey! Those are our tents in the distance—and-- • they’re on fire!”

  5. Cassius’ camp: • Cassius to Titinius, “Jump on your horse and ride to our burning tents—see if the troops are friendly or hostile!!” • Titinius to Cassius, “I’m on it!”

  6. Cassius’ camp: Cassius to Pindarus, Pindarus to Cassius, “My lord, I’m on it!” • “Pindarus, ride up on that high hill and watch Titinius—let me know what’s going on when he gets to the tents!”

  7. Cassius’ camp: Pindarus returning to camp from the hill: Cassius to Pindarus: “This isn’t my day!! I sent Titinius, my best friend, to check out the burning tents, and now he’s toast!! I can’t live with that hanging over my head!” • “Cassius! From the top of the hill I could see your best buddy, Titinius. Bad news! The enemy has captured him!!”

  8. Cassius’ camp: Cassius to Pindarus: Pindarus to Cassius: • “Pindarus, you’ve been my slave, but I’m going to release you on one condition—take my sword, the one I killed Caesar with, and run it through me. . .ugh! I die!”

  9. Cassius’ camp: Enter Titinius—he’s alive! And Messala. Messala to Titinius Titinius to Messala “Cassius will be happy about this. . .hey, wait a minute! There’s his dead body. . .oh, too bad, he was the best thing for Rome. . .” • “Look at that! Our side is doing pretty well!!”

  10. Cassius’ camp: Titinius to Messala: Messala to Titinius “I’ll go look for him and while I’m at it, I better let Brutus know his co-commander is dead.” • “He thought I was taken by the enemy—what a bad mistake. . . (looking around) Where’s his servant, Pindarus?”

  11. Messala exits. Titinius is alone. • “Rats! This is all one big mistake! We were winning, not losing! Cassius, why’d ya DO it? I’m taking your sword and ending my life. . . • Arrrrrrgggghhhh!”

  12. Story Board Assignment:pick up a piece of paper in the front of the room • Fold your paper into six equal parts. • Go back over scenes two and three in Act V. • Select six events and arrange them in chronological order. • Each section should have a picture showing what is going on. • Each section must also include a related quote from the play, cited in the way we have learned: “quote you select” (5.3. 76-77). • Put in the tray when you are finished, then continue working on your Julius Caesar project.
