  1. Toothache, Chipped Tooth, Tooth Knocked Out? What to Do

  2. Toothache, Chipped Tooth, Tooth Knocked Out? What to Do Have you ever woken up with a nasty toothache? Maybe you’ve been playing an innocent game of touch rugby with your friends and you’ve gone in a little too hard and knocked your front tooth out? First things first, don’t panic. There are solutions to ensure you make a painless and cost effective recovery.

  3. Toothache When we get a toothache, it’s common to ignore it and hope it goes away. This is never a good idea - check it out with a dentist. If you’ve got significant pain and are hoping to manage it before you get to a dentist, try these methods: Rinse your mouth with warm salty water ● Apply a cold compress to the face around the painful area ● Don’t brush your teeth in the painful area - it might just aggravate the problem ● We urge you to book an appointment with a dentist if a toothache persists - not just for your own health, but for peace of mind.

  4. Chipped Tooth There isn’t a lot you can do with a chipped tooth, other than visiting your dentist. To ensure that no infection or exposure to bacteria affects the area we suggest regularly rinsing your mouth with warm salty water. Keep all broken pieces of the tooth, and rinse them in warm water. If the chipped tooth begins to ache, apply a cold compress to the face. To avoid the tooth chipping further, we encourage you to see a dentist immediately and sort out a treatment plan.

  5. Knocked out Tooth We understand that knocking out a tooth can be extremely distressing and in some cases traumatic. But take a breath. Everything will be okay. The tooth can be fixed, as long as you follow our simple steps. Keep the knocked out tooth ● Rinse it in warm water - but don’t scrub off the tissue! ● Put the tooth in a container of milk ● See your dentist immediately! ● If a tooth is checked and fitted back into the socket within the first hour, there is a high chance the tooth can be saved. But it’s not the end of the world if it can’t be. Your dentist will discuss alternatives with you that will look cosmetically perfect and unsuspectedly fake. If you have a toothache, chipped tooth or a knocked out tooth, and are looking for a trusted North Tivoli Dentist, contact Karana Downs Dental for more information on your treatment options.
