MS Announcements: Tuesday, Jan. 8th Middle School Currently the middle school teachers and administration are discussing the possibility of rescheduling the middle school talent show. More information will be shared with you when decisions are made. WL-S will be on a one-hour delay this Wednesday for teacher professional development. The middle school Geography Bee will be on Wednesday at 1:20. No other modifications to the schedule will take place. The geography bee will most likely take all of 6th period. Participants in the geography bee are: Fifth Grade: Cade Clerico and Zayne Reed Sixth Grade: Hailee Clifford and Addy Johnson Seventh Grade: Levi Moell and Anna Edwards Eighth Grade: Bishop Williamson and Michael Frederick Congratulations to the Champaign County Daughters of the American Revolution Essay Contest Winners. In the sixth grade, first place goes to Addy Johnson and second place goes to Breann Koons. Addy and Breann will be honored at an awards ceremony on President’s Day in Urbana. Athletics The 7th grade girls basketball team defeated Triad last night by a score of 32-6. The Tigers were led by Taylor Lauck with 10 points and 5 steals, Jonni Parker with 12 points and 8 rebounds, and Laine Godwin with 6 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 steals. Kenedie Cox contributed 4 steals, and Julie Parker had 2 steals. The 8th grade Lady Tigers finished the night off with a win, downing Triad 35-27. The Tiger's tough defense lead to 11 steals for the team. Lily Yoder led the way shooting 5 - 7 from the line and finishing with 20 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 steals. Mikalia McIntosh followed with 5 points, 2 steals and 1 assist. Kiana Reams led rebounding with 6 rebounds on the night and 2 points. The Tigers return to action at home Thursday at 5pm. The 7th grade boys basketball team improved to 5-1 by defeating Triad last night, 35-32. James Loffing scored 12pts, Max Eggleston had 9pts and Cody King added 8pts. The 8th grade boys are also 5-1 after defeating Triad 31-29. Kannon Stillings led scoring with 12pts and Ben Hyland added 7pts. Both boys teams play at Mechanicsburg Thursday at 5:00pm.
