California DPR Partnership of WRRF and WateReuse California $8-10 million+ in three years • Member agencies • Engineers • Foundations Activities • Research focused on direct potable reuse • DPH expert panels per SB 918 • Education and outreach
California DPR – Research Priorities Source water management Treatment • Critical control points • Monitoring • Controls • Reliability/resiliency • Water quality goals Operations and operator controls Communication plan
DPR is Cost-Competitive From: Dave Smith, WateReuse California
SCAPR Objectives - Refresher • Identify impediments • Define a common terminology • Gather best practices, state of the industry information, and case studies • Track CA and TX efforts • Create Advisory Panels • Conduct a scoping process to provide recommendations to ADEQ/ADWR • Develop a road map to potable reuse in Arizona

Tech Toolbox Outcomes • Not a “one size fits all” technology solution • Develop a table of treatment technology options with targeted results • Develop a decision support flow chart for treatment trains • Input starting point • Input desired outcome(s) • Support with case studies and prior work

Advisory Panel on Emerging Contaminants Unregulated compounds All aspects of the water cycle • Chemical compounds • Biological • Public education What do we need to know for potable reuse?
