one-X Portal Overview one-X Portal is a server application that allows IP Office users to control their phone and various telephony settings through a web browser. • A single one-X Portal server can support multiple IP Offices when they are connected in a single IP Office Small Community Network (SCN). • One-X Portal installs as a service with an integral web server. • User and administrator access to one-X Portal is through a web browser to the one-X Portal service. • The one-X Portal Service communicates to the IP Office using the IP Office Telephony Service Provider Interface (TSPI). • TSPI is configured through the IP Office security settings.
one-X Portal Providers Providers are components of one-X Portal, each of which performs a specific role. The different types of provider are: • Presentation Level Provider • handles the browser connections between users and the one-X Portal server. • Telephony CSTA Provider • handles telephony communications to and from the IP Office systems assigned to it. • Directory DSML IP Office Provider • handles obtaining directory information from the IP Office phone systems assigned to it.
one-X Portal Providers - continued • Directory DSML LDAP Provider • Handles obtaining LDAP directory information from an LDAP source. LDAP sources are assigned to the provider during installation. • VoiceMail Provider • Handles direct interaction with the voicemail server for features such as message playback via the browser. • During installation: • One provider of each type is created • IP Offices are assigned to the Telephony CSTA and Directory DSML Providers • A Voicemail provider is created but must be configured
IP Office Requirements • one-X Portal is supported beginning with IP Office Release 5 • If used in a single Small Community Network, the SCN rules apply • Each IP Office must be running Release 5 or higher • Each user and hunt group name must be unique • Each user and hunt group extension must be unique • Users licensed and configured with the Office User, Teleworker or Power User profiles can be configured to use one-X Portal • The one-X Portal for IP Office license can be used to enable users set to the Basic User profile
Server PC Requirements • Operating System: Windows 2003 or Windows 2008 (32-bit and 64-bit). • RAM Memory: 2GB. • Available Hard Disk Space: 10GB. • TCP/IP Port:The default port is 8080. This can be changed if required during installation of the server software if necessary. • Firewall Exceptions: Exceptions should be added to the server firewall for incoming access on TCP port 8080. If the firewall is also used to control outgoing access, an exception for access to TCP port 50814 on the IP Office IP address should also be added.
Voicemail Server Requirements • Microsoft IIS should be installed and running before installing the VoiceMail Pro software. The following IIS options should be enabled: • Enable Direct Metabase Edit • IIS6 Configuration compatibility • SSL should be disabled on the default website • The Web Voicemail (UMS) component should be installed • The voicemail server must be on the same subnet as the one-X Portal server • DNS should be working prior to installation
one-X Portal User Requirements • Web Browser (Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox and Safari) • JavaScript enabled • The Remember me on this computer option requires the browser to allow cookies • A media player must be installed for sound playback • The playback of voicemail messages may require the IP address of the voicemail server added to the proxy server exceptions • one-X Portal presently supports English, French, German, Italian, Dutch, Brazilian Portuguese and Russian • One-X Portal can be used with most phones supported by the IP Office.
IP Office Security Settings Before attempting to connect an IP Office to a one-X Portal server you must check the IP Office security settings. one-X Portal uses a specific service and security service user account for the connection. This service is not necessarily present by default. • Service: Enhanced TSPI • Rights Group: TCPA Group • Service User: EnhTcpaService
Checking Available Server Ports The one-X Portal application installs as a service (Avaya one-X Portal) listening on a server's port. By default it uses port 8080. It is important to check that port 8080 is not already in use by another application. If it is, a different unused port number should be specified during the one-X Portal software installation. • To check which ports are already in use on the server, the command netstat -an >ports.txt can be used. • IP Office Reserved Ports • 8089: Default port for IP Office Conference Center • 8888: Default port used by ContactStore • Port 8081 is the default port used by IIS for Sharepoint administration access
one-X Portal Software Installation • On the IP Office Application DVD, locate and double-click on the file one-Xportal.msi file to start the server software installation process • If Java is not installed on the server, the one-X Portal installer will offer to install it. • Avaya recommends the use of the default installation path and Server Port number. • When installation of the software is complete, the completion screen is displayed. • Select the Start the Avaya one-X Portal Service check box and click on Finish. • It can take up to 15 minutes for the service to start the first time.
one-X Portal Initial Configuration • Type in the following URL in the web browser: http://127.0.0.1:8080/inyama/inyama.html?admin=true • Enter the default administrator name (Administrator) and password (Administrator) and click Login • When you have read the license agreement, select Have Read & Agree and then click on Next.
Setting the IP Office Address • Enter the IP Office address in the form (e.g. 192.168.42.1) • Select Advanced Installation • Select Advanced Provider Options
Setting the IP Office Address - continued • Select Voicemail-Provider • Enter the IP address of the Voicemail Server PC • Select Check IP Office(s)
Extract User Lists and Synchronize Directories • Select Extract User Lists and Next • Select Synchronise Directories and Next
Change Administrator password • Enter a new password in the fields provided and select Change password • Select Get All and Page 2 to verify the ‘Status’ of all components is Available
Configure Users for one-X Portal • Users licensed and configured with the Office User, Teleworker User or Power User profiles can be configured for as one-X Portal users. • Users licensed and configured for with Teleworker User or Power User profiles can also be enabled for one-X Portal telecommuter mode. • Existing one-X Portal for IP Office licenses remain valid and can be used to enable one-X Portal for users set to the Basic User profile. • The Name and Password fields on the User tab in the Manager application are used for the User Name and Password login credentials on the one-X Portal for IP Office login screen.
User Login to one-X Portal • Type in the following URL in the web browser: http://<AppserverName>:8080/inyama/inyama.html
one-X Portal User Interface one-X Portal for IP Office provides ‘Gadgets’ for easy access to telephony features, call information, call and conference control, instant messaging, directory and VoiceMail Pro mailbox: • Calls Gadget with PC telephony and conferencing controls • Call Log Gadget provides call history for incoming, outgoing and missed calls • Message Gadget provides access and control of messages in the users voicemail box • Directory Gadget with three separate directories • System • External • Personal
Directory Features From the Directory entry of a user the option chat with allows the establishment of an instant messaging session with other logged on one-X Portal users. • For the directory entries of other IP Office users, one-X Portal for IP Office will indicate the status of the user at their work number. This status is available for users across an IP Office Small Community Network.
one-X Portal User Profiles There are 3 default profiles, called Office, Mobile and Home. • These can be edited but not deleted. • The user can create up to 5 additional profiles. • A special profile called Detected may also appear and it is displayed when the current telephone system settings don't match any of the profiles. When creating or editing a profile, there are settings that the user can configure: • Call Pickup • Mobility • Voicemail
User Configurable Items one-X Portal users can configure several features that normally would require the assistance of an administrator, for example: Managing the Do Not Disturb Exceptions list and changing the Voicemail Pass-code. Other configurable items include: • Defining Keyboard Shortcuts for common actions • Enabling PC sound notification for incoming calls and new messages • Customization of Park Slot labels • Entering a personal conference bridge number • Configuration of personalized greetings
