  2. Pathophysiology 1- most common blunt trauma is motor vehicle crashes 2- acceleration : Moving object hitting the chest 3- deceleration: sudden decrease in the speed 4- Compression

  3. Clinical Manifestations • Hypoxemia • Hypovolemia • Cardiac failure

  4. Diagnostic Evaluation • Physical examination • Chest X-ray. • CT-sacn • Complete Blood Count • Clotting studies • Blood grouping • ABGs

  5. Management • Airway management • Fluid replacement • Draining intrapleural fluids and blood

  6. Nursing Care Plan • ASSESSMENT • DIAGNOSIS • PLANNING • INTERVENTION • EVALUATION
