  1. Sir Isaac Newton 1642 – 1727 Um dos três maiores físicos de todos os tempos. A ele se fica a dever a teoria da gravitação universal (1687). Desenvolveu, também, o cálculo diferencial e integral (em paralelo com GottfriedWilhelmvonLeibnitz).

  2. James Clerk Maxwell 1831 – 1879 As equações de Maxwell (1865) foram publicadas, por este físico escocês, em 1873 na obra intitulada A TreatiseonElectricityandMagnetism. É, sem dúvida, um dos três maiores físicos de todos os tempos.

  3. Albert Einstein 1879 – 1955 O principal físico do século XX e um dos três maiores físicos de todos os tempos. A ele se deve a teoria da relatividade restrita (1905) bem como a teoria da relatividade geral (1915). Foi, também, um dos fundadores da teoria quântica pelo seu trabalho sobre a interacção entre os fotões e a matéria.
