What is Connect? • Prospective student system integrated with AY • Managed by Grad Admissions • Announced in 2011 • Why? • Grad School restructuring: “Establish a new graduate education web presence. The addition of a recruitment module will include an applicant inquiry home page.” • Old AY prospect module phased out • Salesforce not available yet • Improved communication and measurement (fairs, etc)

  5. myGradpage Customized (Request for Info) Uses: Program info Surveys College info? Diversity, International, etc.

  6. Email Communication • Measuring views, interactions (URL clicks), etc. • Customized for programs to target certain groups 1.) Ad hoc – tell localprospects about upcoming event 2.) Scheduled (auto pilot) • Grad Admissions: Welcome! Funding, Recommendation tips, etc. see: http://www.grad.umn.edu/admissions/connect/index.html • Program info • Diversity/International (customized) • Examples of targeted communication: • “Check out our research areas/office hours/faculty list/…” • “You indicated you ‘re a sophomore, be sure to do undergraduate research! Click here…” • “Dear (Chinese applicant), Visit our Beijing office!”

  11. How do prospects enter Connect? On their own • Request for Info form (link from your program website or Grad School page) • You probably have prospects right now! Us! • Manually added contacts • Imported lists • Fair lists • Purchased Name list (Nat’l Name Exchange) • Visiting groups • Etc.
