CONTD • The flora of state comprises of 3054 species . • About 880e species are found in Ladakh . • The flora of Jammu comprises Of 506 i. • There are 55 species of important medicinal plants in the temperate cold regions of J&K. • The vegetation of the state ranges from the tropical Deciduous forests in th foothills of Jammu to temperate flora in the middle altitudes of the Kashmir Valley .

  12. Fauna in J&K. DETAIL The fauna of J&K is diverse due to its unique location & climatic conditions . About 16% of mammals , birds , reptiles, amphibians and butterflies are present in the state . Birds contribute much towards the chordate diversity followed by mammals , reptiles , fishes , and amphibians .
