  5. What is Change Data CAPTURE in SQL 2008

A few points to note: • To enable CDC on a database you MUST be a member of SysAdmin • To enable CDC on a table you need to be a member of the db_Owner role • SQL Agent MUST be running! • Default is 3 days retention! • CDC Namespace : SQL now needs it! You can’t use it • Changes to the Structure of your database – requires recreation of new capture instance
