Heller’s Myotomy & Pneumatic Dilation • Barium Swallow: • performed after the surgery to check for leaks • to monitor changes in the shape and function of the esophagus • This surgery is often combined with partial fundoplication to reduce the incidence of postoperative acid reflux • Heavy lifting is typically restricted for six weeks or more.
