  6. Three options: 1. Use a period to separate the sentences. 2. Use short joining words and a comma to combine the two sentences. 3. Use a semi-colon with long joining words to combine the two sentences.

  8. 2. Use short joining words and a comma to combine the two sentences. • If you do not struggle with comma splice or run on errors, you can use techniques 2 and 3 to create sentence variety in your writing to make your writing more interesting.

  9. Short joining words (compound sentence with a conjunction) Rule: Two complete related sentences can be joined by a comma and a short joining word. and, for, but, nor, so, yet, or I like school, and it is fun.
