39-44 Answers • Amina 1. Gally warned them that the Grievers will kill them (one person each night). Gally got taken by the Grievers because he was trying to break out of the house where all of the Gladers were hiding. The Griever grabbed him. • 2. The map room was burned and their work on the maps is lost. I think Gally is responsible because he doesn’t want anyone to solve the maze. • Saeed • 3. He realized that there is a code that will help them to figure out how to exit the maze. He figures out the patterns will reveal the code. • 4. They thought that the maps were burned but Minho hid them in the weapons room.
39-44 Answers • Teppei • 5. He had them trace the maps from the ten or so days on paper. Then a letter was revealed. He thinks this means the maps spell out words which are a code. • 6. Minho thinks that something might have changed or opened up because the doors of the maze aren’t closing at night any more. They plan on staying in the maze overnight to explore some more. • Daniel • 7. The grievers do not chase the runners any more even though they clearly can see the runners. The maze was no longer changing because it is ending soon. • 8. Thomas and Minho decide to return to the Glade so soon because they could not find any exit to the maze. This seems like a good choice because they are not finding any clues to the exit and they need some more ideas.

They are frustrated because they were sure that the purpose of the code would be obvious, so Thomas decided to get stung on purpose because he wants his memories back. • 2.There is a sense of relief because even if they feel guilty, they’re still alive. • Eun • 3. He was in a lot of pain when his memories all came flooding back at one time. Also, he remembers the maze and helping to create it, but not his own life. • 4. He figures out that the maze cannot be solved. It was a test made by the creators to see who will survive.
Answers 45-51 • Fernando • 5. The maze is a test and the code was hidden in the wall movements of the maze for a reason. They are very confused. • 6. He reveals that he and Teresa were part of the maze trials in the very beginning and they helped to create it. He also tells them he and Teresa are telepathic. He tells them this because he wants them to trust him now. • Julia • 7. They have to go into the dark griever hole. Thomas thinks that the grievers will be there and some people will die. He believes that not everyone is supposed to survive. • 8. Thomas said he’s going to sacrifice himself. If the grievers come out of the hole, then Thomas is going to be the center of attention so the others can escape and live.
