  3. dank • The basement of the abandoned mansion was dank and dark and full of creepy, crawly creatures. • Frogs need a dank environment in order to survive. • Definition: unpleasantly damp

  4. lackluster • The dogs coat was usually so shiny but it looked lackluster after the dog rolled in the dirt for 10 minutes. • Carrie fired Tony’s band because of their lackluster performance. • Definition: dull; lacking brightness

  5. inaudible • The noise coming from the closet was nearly inaudible but Jeremy thought he heard the sound of a whimpering puppy. • The sound, at 3 AM, was so soft it was almost inaudible but it still scared Rick. • Definition: unable to be heard
