  6. What the current parents say “The College has vastly improved for students learning, behaviour and wellbeing this is reflected by the culture and the ethos of the College, being more student centred. As a parent I have always been made to feel welcome and any question or concern has been responded to.” “Since [my daughter] started last September and throughout the whole integration of the middle schools into Newmarket College I have been nothing but impressed with the College……[my daughter] is very happy at the school” “We have to say that on the whole we have been pleased with [our son’s] progress and it would appear that he is achieving the high grades set for him. He enjoys the majority of his lessons, is motivated to learn and also happy at the school.” “The things I am seeing come from the school and the feedback from my son suggest that it is a happy school which is doing the right things to build a rounded person.” “[our daughter] is very happy at school and is encouraged well by her teachers ……. she has requested information from her teachers on how to achieve the higher levels she would like on a project she has been pointed in the right direction. We also know that if we have any issues we can contact any of her teachers and receive feedback from them directly.” “Both my husband and I are extremely happy with how our daughter has settled in to the school”

  7. College life from the perspective of our Year 7’s “You are able to stay with your primary school friends and also able to be social and make new friends. You also get used to where your classrooms are and you will know your way round the school in days.” -Lucy Robinson “All of the teachers are very kind and welcoming. They encourage you to take part and have a go, even if you don’t enjoy it, because what you do in subjects is different and it might change your mind. ” -Jimmy Yeoman “I found the induction days a real help. I got to know my way around the school and recognised some of the teachers. The induction days acted as a stepping stone and really helped.” -Thomas Allison I was worried about going to a new school. Everything was new and unfamiliar. However, the teachers were friendly and happy to help. The teaching assistants helped me with my work, the Pastoral Office was happy for me to tell them my problems” -Timothy Shoesmith The college was very supportive. After a few weeks, I had made lots of new friends and could navigate my way around the college on my own. If you ever feel down or upset, the teachers will always be happy to help.” -Nathanial Bennett
