What to do How to do it When to do it How to put in your Submission The format to use What we are going to Discuss
Tell them! Ask for your concerns to be addressed Don’t give them the opportunity to say: “Your concerns have been noted” So, ask specific questions, such as: How do you propose to mitigate…? What data was used in calculating…? Detail how you proposed to … What to do
Put in your personal submission. Consider issues such as: Property Values Future Development plans Health concerns Resale prospects Lifestyle impacts etc Easement & access issues Reference: Appendix H What to do
Environmental Impacts Loss of Vegetation Loss of Flora & Fauna Surveys done were incomplete or out of season Impacts were ignored or trivialised Reference: Chapter 19 What to focus on
Visual Impacts Noted as high, but ignored to justify Our properties devalued, reduced equity & resaler prospects, stigma attached Affects tourist appeal & visual amenity of the Sunshine Coast Reference: Chapter 11 & Appendix Q What to focus on
Alternatives What alternative do you suggest? Solar, Thermal Local generation plants PV Solar on all house rooftops Use the highway infrastructure corridor Reference: Chapter 2 What to focus on
Climate Change issues Route selected does not support access requirements (i.e. not fit for purpose) Are the projections up-to-date and correct? Is this the only solution? Why not a lesser impact solution appropriate to the 21st century issues and actual growth areas? Reference: Chapters 2, 3 & 20 Whatever concerns you about this proposal
How to do it On either the CD or USB stik: • Open up the file • You will see 3 folders • Click the first folder
Accessing the files You will see all the sub-folders…
Accessing the files When you see the icon you want to open, single click on that sub-folder and the full name of the folder will appear. Using Chapter 14 as an example, you will see the full name of that chapter, going from to Chapter 14_Transport infrastructure traffic and amenity.pdf Then double click on the folder to open up the file (chapter)

Using the Edit / Find you can quickly scan the entire document in minutes rather than hours Use alternate words or phrases, eg: Replace “noise” with “sound”, or Replace “road” with “track” or “access” When you have found something of interest to you, Highlight the section, Copy & Paste it into the template or a separate Word document Finding Information
