  2. Scale Drawing Steps • Choose the longest side of your room to correspond with the longer side of your graph paper. • Divide the actual length of your room by the units available on your graph paper. (You should leave a few unused squares around the edge of the graph paper).

  3. Scale Drawing Steps 3. Round your quotient from Step 2 UP one or two whole numbers. The scale of your drawing will be: 1 unit = # from Step 3 4. Convert your room dimensions to scale. Be sure that the drawing dimensions will fit on your graph paper.

  4. Scale Drawing Steps 5. Resize your drawing if necessary. 6. Convert all window, door, etc. measurements to scale. 7. Use a ruler and lightly sketch the scaled dimensions of your room on the graph paper. 8. Darken all lines.
