Promotion Criteria • General • No ISS or OSS for current evaluation period. • No disciple problems/issues. • Know general cadet knowledge; i.e. Cadet Rank, Cadet Creed, Chain-of-Command, • Specific • CPL • At least 75 merits • Meet all requirements under General Promotion Criteria • Satisfactory grades in all academic areas. • Score 80% or higher on Cadet Knowledge Test (CKT) 1.
Promotion Criteria Con’t • SGT– SSG • Meet all requirements under General and Specific Promotion Criteria. • Score 90% or better on CKT I • SFC and Above • Meet all requirements under General and Specific Promotion Criteria • Score 95% or better on CKT II • Score 80% or better on the writing requirement • Pass a promotion board
Promotion Procedures • Promotion Ceremony will be conducted monthly in conjunction with the monthly Battalion Formation. • Personnel who meet promotion eligibility requirements must submit their promotion packet not later than (NLT) the 15th of the month. (Promotions for CPL and above) • The S-1 will verify all promotion data before submitting packet cadre.
Promotion Procedures (con’t) • Step One: Assemble Promotion Packet • Cover Letter • Progress Report • Essay (Required for SFC and above) • Cadet Knowledge Test Score (Required for CPL and above) • Endorsement from Cadet Bn CDR & CSM • Step Two: • Submit completed packet to S-1 • Complete writing requirement • Go before the Promotion board • Step Three: • Attend monthly Battalion Formation
Promotion Board • Cadet Battalion Commander* • Cadet CSM • Cadet S-3 • Army Instructor* • Senior Army Instructor* *Voting Member
Staff Task • S-1 • Responsible for inputting and updating cadet merits into JUMS • Responsible for reviewing promotion packets to packets are complete before submitting to cadre • Responsible for scheduling monthly promotion boards • S-3 • Develop Cadet Knowledge Test I & II • Develop Study Guide for Cadet Knowledge Test • CSM • Responsible for oversight of promotion policy • Responsible for reviewing promotion packets
