Every country has it own unique way in celebrating the tradition.Here’s a look at how some of these countries spend their day.
USA • Although it is not public holiday, it is celebrated widely, classrooms are decorated with hearts, flowers and red roses • Couples exchange gifts such as flowers, chocolate boxes, and roses.
Brazil • Valentines day is a big festive occasion, parties held in the street playing music and samba dancing they also exchange gifts of cards and sweets.
Inda • Valentines day is celebrated mostly by young people, they are given flowers and sweet and tend to eat out on this day. • However some Hindu’s are against the celebration of valentines day as they feel it is not a representation of Indian culture.
Germany • Valentines day was resticted by adults however young people became an important part in the celebration, today it is celebrated by all with the exchange of cards, gifts and chocolates. • They have also introduced pigs into the festivities as they feel it represents luck and lust.
Japan • Valentines day is a day that most appeals to the woman in Japan, the woman shower their males with gifts especially chocolates. • They also celebrate the white day on the 14th of Febuary where men give chocolates to their ladies more expensive than they received on valentines day.
