Safety first • You are responsible for the safety of yourself and those around you • No horse play, pranks, jokes in the lab • When in doubt, ask! • Safety is the #1 priority!
Eye wear • Contacts pose a hazard in the lab • Prescription glasses must be accompanied with goggles • Lab goggles mustbe worn at all times • Don’t worry, goggles are the latest fashion in the lab! (All of the cool kids are wearing them)
CLOTHING • No baggy clothing • Pants (not shorts) should be worn • Roll up loose sleeves • Always wear close-toed shoes i.e. no sandals • Long hair should be tied back Image From Microsoft Clip Art
Spills and Breaks • Do not try to hide broken glass or spilled chemicals. • Notify the teacher of any chemical spill or glass breakage. • Gloves should be used when cleaning spilled chemicals. • Dispose of chemicals in proper location Image From Microsoft Clip Art
Fire Extinguisher • P.A.S.S. • Pull • Aim • Squeeze • Sweep Image From Microsoft Clip Art
Eye Wash • Know the location • Notify instructor • Hold eye open • Flush eye in water for at least 15 minutes Image From Microsoft Clip Art
