  3. Topical Groups • Fundamental Research (e.g. solar, S-T, including future missions and instrumentation) , H. Lundstedt • Ground Effects (GIC, prospecting, tourism), R. Pirjola • Atmospheric Effects (incl. Drag), TBD • Ionospheric Effects , Lj. Cander • Spacecraft & Aircraft Environments , A. Hilgers • Education, Outreach and Emerging Markets, N. Crosby

  4. Updates • SDA distribution indicated need for a “topical group” on solar monitoring and indices. • SDA session on 14th Nov. chaired and reported on by M. Messerotti • Should this form another TG, or part of an existing?

  5. Membership • Recently conducted survey of (public) membership list • 104 people confirmed continued interest • All were asked to register for topical groups. • Most from ESA member states. Plus many associate members from non-ESA members states • SDAs, industry, research, ESA (several), • Large proportion of scientists and service developers. Few users – still involved typically on a case by case basis where specific invitation is issued. • National representatives (some) Note.. • Not everyone responded. Including some members of the coordination group (!) Conclusion. Large community interested to be informed of activities. In practice, a smaller group active on a regular basis. List will be made available via the SWWT website & TG spokespersons will receive updated list of interested participants.
